It’s been a busy day for The New Saints FC in the transfer market, and we can now confirm that subject to international clearance, Adam Wilson has become the second player to sign for The New Saints before the window closes.

The 22-year-old arrives at Park Hall on a free transfer, having left Newcastle United earlier this summer.

Impressing over the last few days during an initial trial period, head coach, Craig Harrison, has decided to keep the winger at the club on a permanent basis to strengthen his attacking options for the JD Cymru Premier campaign.

Another player who climbed the ranks at St. James’ Park, Wilson made his Premier League 2 debut aged just 16 in November 2016.

He went on take make a total of 61 appearances in the competition during his time with the Magpies, and also featured for the club eight times in the EFL trophy.

In March 2018, the Ashington native made his England U-18 debut in a 4-0 win against Qatar, and represented his country at youth level on three further occasions.

Asked to comment on the signing of Wilson, head coach, Harrison, told us: “Adam is a very exciting young player who has spent a long time at a Premier League football club, training and playing with some real quality players, coaches and managers.

“A left-footed player, he will bring balance and more attacking options, which will compliment and bring more competition to our attacking end of the pitch.

“Adam is a very exciting out-and-out winger, who wants to take players on, and also has a great eye for a goal.”
