It was another strong result and performance for The New Saints this past weekend, as they defeated Cardiff Met 5-0 in their latest Novira Cymru Premier fixture.
Making his first start since returning from injury, Ben Wilson scored twice from the penalty spot, while two summer signings, Rhys Hughes and Dynel Simeu, both scored long-range strikes. Rory Holden added the fifth goal in the 90th minute.
The result made it three wins from three in the Novira Cymru Premier, and it's now five games unbeaten and five without conceding a goal.
Craig Harrison's side are back in league action this coming Friday (August 28th), welcoming Colwyn Bay to Park Hall for action under the lights.
It's been a mixed bag of results for the Seagulls so far this season. After beating newly-promoted Trefelin 2-0 on the opening day, Mike Wilde's side were held to a draw by Ammanford, before suffering defeat against Caernarfon Town. This past weekend, though, they got their campaign back on track with a narrow 1-0 victory over another of the league's newly-promoted sides, Airbus UK Broughton.
Since Colwyn Bay's switch from the English to the Welsh pyramid, the two sides have faced off on six occasions. The Saints have won four of those matches, with one ending in a draw, and Colwyn Bay winning the other.
That victory for Friday's visitors came at Park Hall last season, with Lewis Sirrell and Jordan Davies scoring in what proved to be a 2-0 win. Craig Harrison's side suffered the early blow of a questionable red card to goalkeeper Jack Edwards, leaving them a man light for more than an hour.
The New Saints will take to the field in their traditional home kit of green and white hooped shirts, with green shorts and socks, while the visitors will be in all-black. The goalkeepers will be in all-orange and all-pink respectively.
Richard Wright has been appointed referee, with Ian Bird and Cilan Thomas the two assistants. Aled Williams is the fourth official, Siôn Davies the video assistant referee, with Steffan Davies acting as the assistant video assistant referee.
Tickets can be purchased HERE and are priced at £11 for adults, £6 for concessions and £4 for under-16s. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:45pm. To speed up entry into the stadium and help prevent queues on arrival, supporters are strongly advised to purchase tickets online in advance.
