The New Saints’ Steve Evans has joined Gap Connah’s Quay on loan.

The Welsh International will be available to play for his new side against Aberystwyth Town in the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League tonight. 

Known as ‘Evo’, the powerful defender has been capped seven times by Wales and has joined The Nomads, where he will link up with his brother, Ricky.

TNS manager Craig Harrison said, ‘Evo has had a long time out and has worked extremely hard to to come back from two horrendous injuries. He needs to play games now and the more match fit he gets, the more chance he will have of getting himself back into our team for the long term.’

Evans is also the TNS Under 19’s manager and guided his young side to the Championship last season.
