After impressing the club’s management staff with his performances last season, Jake Morris has signed a professional contract with The New Saints FC. 

Morris, who first joined the club at the age of 11, has progressed through the Academy system at Park Hall and became a standout performer in Simon Smith’s U19s squad last season.

In the 2024/25 campaign, the 18-year-old played a key role as the Saints won both the FAW National Academi North Development League and the ECFA Men’s Premier Cup, while the midfielder also made his UEFA Youth League debut against FK Žalgiris. 

Having already made his first team debut as a substitute in last season’s Nathaniel MG Cup victory against Flint Town United, the 18-year-old will now continue his development among the club’s senior pros under the guidance of head coach Craig Harrison. 

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Morris said: 

“I am very happy to have signed a professional contract with The New Saints.

“I’ve been with the club since the age of 11 and I have enjoyed every moment, from winning trophies to making friends. 

“This wouldn’t be possible without the support and help from my family, and I can’t wait to get started.”

First team assistant coach Simon Smith, who headed up the scholarship programme last season, added: 

“Everyone at the academy is delighted to see the progress Jake has made, and we look forward to seeing his further development.

“He has worked extremely hard throughout his time with us and deserves the opportunities and experiences he will have within our first team squad. 

“It’s a proud moment for Jake, his family and all the staff who have played a part in his career so far, and we wish him all the best.”
