Following an earlier statement dated 10th February 2025, The New Saints can confirm they are still yet to receive the fee owed to them by Al-Orobah FC for the transfer of Brad Young.
Due to their lack of compliance with a previous ruling, which required the Saudi Pro League club to pay the first instalment of $150K plus 5% interest within 45 days, FIFA have now imposed a ban on Al-Orobah FC from registering new players internationally.
The registration ban will remain active until the amount due is paid and for a maximum duration of up to three entire and consecutive registration periods.
Club chairman Mike Harris said: “We thank FIFA for their continued work to ensure that Al-Orobah FC meet their contractual obligations.
“As a club, we will continue to explore all avenues to make sure the transfer fee we are rightly owed is received.
“Al-Orobah’s failure to act, despite previous correspondence from FIFA, is further evidence of the Saudi Pro League’s untrustworthiness, and I would again encourage others to avoid conducting business with its clubs.”
