The New Saints are delighted to confirm that our Academy has successfully obtained their status for the 2024/25 season, which means we will once again operate a Category A programme.
Category A is recognised as the highest level of provision available to players domestically. There are only four Category A Academies in Wales.
The FAW’s criteria in order to successfully obtain a Category A licence consists of over 150 sporting and business points, so a huge thank you must go to all of our staff, young players and their families for all their help and support.
Head of Academy, Christian Seargeant, commented: “A big well done to all our parents and players who commit so much to the programme, and a huge thank you to the Chairman and board who, without their belief and backing, none of this would be possible.
“The improvement in standard on and off the pitch over the last few years not just in our groups, but across Wales in general, is clear to see for all involved.
“Seeing so many different clubs featuring and winning down at the national finals is further evidence of this and long may it continue. Congratulations to all.
“Finally, an additional mention to every single one of our very special coaches who dedicate so much. The long, unsociable hours and everything else that goes unseen to the outside, always with the club and player development at the forefront of their minds. Now we go again and reset the bar.
“Thank you all!”
