This Sunday (December 17), The New Saints Women play their final game of 2023 when they welcome Cardiff Met WFC to Oswestry.

Five points currently seperate the two sides in the Genero Adran Premier table, with The Saints sitting fourth, while the Archers are in sixth position.

The last meeting between the clubs came on September 24th. Despite falling 3-1 behind on the stroke of half-time, Greg Draper’s side battled back in the second 45 and in the end, the spoils were shared following a thrilling 4-4 draw.

In fact, across the eight games the pair have played since 2021, there have been 40 goals scored, so there’s reason to expect another exciting encounter this time around.

For the final time this year, Saints’ head coach, Draper, held his pre-match press conference at Park Hall yesterday, as his attention turns towards the game on Sunday.

Discussing back-to-back wins against Aberystwyth Town and Rhyl 1879, the debuts of Mille Evans and Elizabeth Watson, plus his desire to finish the year on a high, the New Zealand international also provided good news regarding the return of Chloe Shirley, who’s missed the last two months of the season through injury.
