After three consecutive JD Cymru Premier games, it’s JD Welsh Cup action this Saturday (November 11) for The New Saints, as we welcome Trethomas Bluebirds to Park Hall.

The Bluebirds, based in the village of Trethomas in the traditional county of Monmouthshire, play in the Floodlighting & Electrical South East League, which is in the regionalised third-tier of Welsh football.

They are currently leading the way with a 100% record, having won all nine of their games to date, scoring twenty-seven and conceding just two in the process.

Their run in the Welsh Cup has seen them beat New Inn FC (4-2), Ely Rangers (4-1) and Penrhiwceiber Rangers (6-1).

The excellent run of form this season also extends to the FAW Amateur Trophy, where they have played just the one game, beating Aberbargoed Buds 3-2.

Craig Harrison’s side is in Saturday’s encounter courtesy of a 5-0 victory against Ruthin Town, a game in which Gwion Dafydd scored his first senior hat-trick for the club.

The New Saints will be wearing green and white hooped shirts with green shorts and socks, while the visitors will be in all-blue.

The goalkeepers will be in all-purple and all-orange respectively.

Alex Livesey is the appointed referee and he will be assisted by Harvey Smallman and Jake Smith.
