With the players back in training this week, we conducted our first interview as preparations are now underway ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Sandwiched between sessions at Park Hall, we set up in the stand behind the goal with Declan McManus, as we looked back over his first season with The New Saints.

We began by asking him about his initial twelve months in Welsh football, as prior to that and apart from a spell with Fleetwood Town, he had only played in his native Scotland.

Naturally, goals came into the conversation as we talked about winning the JD Cymru Premier golden boot.

In addition, he also picked up the league’s player of the season award and we asked him whether that came as a surprise.
