A Game Of Two Halves
It was 0-0 at the break, and without wanting to take anything away from Cefn Druids’ resolute performance, it’s true to say that it wasn’t TNS at its best.
However, inspired substitutions and tactical changes saw a totally different second period.
A game of two halves? Indeed.
The Importance Of Performance
If you listen to Anthony Limbrick’s interviews – either before or after games – you will know that he always stresses the importance of a good performance.
Although happier with the second forty-five, as opposed to the first-half, nevertheless our head coach in his post-match chat with club media, expresses his thoughts that he expected more.
As a fan, if you were at the game, would you agree with Anthony? Or, as a supporter, is it just about the win and the three points? Maybe both?
It Was Great To See The Younger Players Involved
Although we often talk about the experienced players, it was great to see a number of youngsters involved in yesterday’s game.
In particular, Ellis Turner and Ben Woollam were both on the bench with the latter coming on late in the game, replacing Blaine Hudson, as he made his JD Cymru Premier debut.
In addition, Jake Canavan also featured, again coming on as a substitute with ten minutes to go.
It’s An Impressive Lead At The Top
Whether in front of the camera or away from it in private conversation, the staff and players are always focused on the next game and not the table.
However, as fans, the attention is also on the current state of affairs. Following the 5-1 win against Cefn Druids, the lead at the top has now been extended to nineteen points.
Just Two Games Before The Split
There are a couple of games to go before we conclude the first phase of JD Cymru Premier fixtures. Both are on the road, as we travel to Cefn Druids next Friday and Cardiff Metropolitan University at the end of the month.
They’re both key encounters and the side will be looking to head into the final ten matches with maximum points.
The current run of form is excellent as far as results are concerned, with seven consecutive victories.
