One of the new signings ahead of the current campaign, the ex-Liverpool Academy forward has certainly hit the ground running. Breaking the deadlock in the 39th minute, his header was merely helped on its way by the Barry Town United player, as the home side went into the break 1-0 to the good.
That was Louis’ eighth league goal of the season, and in the second period he turned provider, setting up Greg Draper, as TNS established a 2-0 lead.

There was just the one change to the starting line-up for The New Saints from the previous game at Maes Tegid, as Greg replaced Jamie Mullan.
As we hit the 72nd minute, on the end of an excellent ball from Jon Routledge, Louis Robles found Greg in the penalty area. Making no mistake, he guided the ball into the back of the net, as TNS went 2-0 ahead.
This was Greg’s eighth league goal of the season, which puts him on level-pegging with Louis.
Goals change games
If the third goal had gone the way of The New Saints, then it would have been a case of playing the clock down. However, when Chris Hugh whipped a ball in from the left that was turned home by Nat Jarvis, the complexion of the encounter changed.
Looking to take advantage of the lifeline that was thrown to them, the visitors upped their game, as they searched for an equaliser. Fortunately though, for TNS, it wasn’t to be.
The unbeaten run continues
If you look at the two European games as ninety-minute affairs, as opposed to extra-time and penalties, then The New Saints has gone thirteen unbeaten this season, in a run that extends back to August 27th.
Of course, it’s all about the JD Cymru Premier now, and with nine wins from eleven games, not only is the side unbeaten domestically, but the overall statistics themselves look very impressive.
It’s still close at the top though
With Bala Town and Connah’s Quay Nomads also winning over the weekend, it’s as you were at the top. If the latter win their game in hand, they will go second and three points behind TNS. The Lakesiders are currently five adrift of the league leaders.
With all three teams due to play each other prior to the split at the end of January, there are still plenty of six-pointers up for grabs.
