Nominations for this season’s JD Welsh Premier League Manager of the Year are being revealed this afternoon, and TNS manager, Scott Ruscoe, was the second name announced on the shortlist.

The Saints’ boss makes the list after seeing his side secure both the second consecutive JD Welsh Premier League title of his managerial reign, and a first JD Welsh Cup since 2016.

Having endured a difficult November period, things certainly turned a corner for The New Saints, with the manager seeing his side go unbeaten since November 23rd 2018 – 186 days.

In the league, TNS scored an impressive 99 goals, while conceding just 16 in the process, winning 23 out of 32 games, and establishing an eventual 12 point margin of victory at the top of the table.

There’ll certainly going to be tough competition for this year’s prize, with Connah’s Quay Nomads’ manager, Andy Morrison, one of the other contenders. The other two nominees are set to be announced as the afternoon progresses.

The TNS boss’ nomination makes it five Saints representatives on various shortlists in this season’s awards, following the announcements of Tom Holland (Young Player of the Season), plus Greg Draper, Jamie Mullan and Aeron Edwards (all Player of the Season).
