The New Saints of Oswestry Town will begin 2016 with a home fixture against Newtown in the Dafabet Welsh Premier League.

The fixture will kick off at 14:30pm and will be a repeat of the recent Boxing Day clash that ended up in a draw despite TNS being 2-0 down at half time.

Nicknamed ‘The Robins’, Newtown were founded in 1875 and are managed by Chris Hughes.

The last encounter between the sides took place only a few days ago an inspired second half performance from The Saints ensured that they remain unbeaten in domestic competitions.

TNS currently find themselves 10 points clear at the top of the Welsh Premier League and 15 clear of fifth placed side Newtown.
