On Friday (November 6th), The New Saints continue their defence of the Novira Cymru Premier when they travel to The Go Goodwins Stadium to face Llandudno.
After last weekend’s closely fought 0-0 draw against second-placed Connah’s Quay Nomads, Craig Harrison’s side remain six points clear at the top of the table, with Saturday’s match marking the halfway point of phase one.
The result also meant that the Saints’ impressive 14-match winning streak finally came to an end, but their performances over the last four months have put them in a very strong position for the remainder of the campaign.
Friday’s trip to the North Wales coast is set to be the first time the league leaders have faced the Seasiders away from home for several years. In fact, you have to go all the way back to March 2019 when TNS were victorious 8-1 in the quarter-final of the FAW Welsh Cup.
Harrison’s men did visit Maesdu Park on two occasions last season, of course, with the venue acting as the temporary home for Caernarfon Town while renovations were carried out at The Oval.
When the two sides met at Park Hall earlier in the season, it was The New Saints who went home happier with a 2-1 victory. They were certainly made to work hard for the three points on that occasion, having to come from behind after Ben Maher’s long-range strike gave Llandudno the lead at the break.
Rhys Hughes grabbed an equaliser for the champions in the 78th minute, however, before Rory Holden completed the comeback with a winner deep into stoppage time.
At the time of that match, Jordan Hadaway’s side were sitting in sixth place with 16 points after a strong start to the season. Since then, though, the Seasiders have lost all five of their league matches and now sit in 10th place, although they remain 10 points clear of the danger zone.
On Friday, Llandudno will be wearing black and white striped shirts, black shorts and black socks, while the visitors will be in all-blue. The respective goalkeepers will be in all-yellow and all-orange.
Conor Charlton-Fleming is the referee, assisted by Richard Dolphin and Ryan Hughes. Andrew Harms is the fourth official, while Mark Petch and James Walker are the video assistant referee and assistant video assistant referee respectively.
Tickets for the match can be purchased HERE and are priced at £10 for adults, £7 for concessions and £2 for children. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:45pm.
If you can't make it to The Go Goodwins Stadium, you won't have to miss any of the action, as the match will be streamed live on Cymru Football TV at https://www.cymrufootball.tv/en/.
