Ahead of the new Genero Adran Premier season, The New Saints Women are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Molly France, subject to international clearance.
The 19-year-old arrives at Park Hall with a growing reputation as one of the most promising young goalkeepers in Welsh women's football, having begun her development at Chester before moving to Connah's Quay Nomads.
During the 2023/24 season, France established herself as a regular within the first team in Flintshire, keeping seven clean sheets and earning the club's Young Player of the Season award.
France continued to build on that form in the following season, claiming the Genero Adran North Golden Glove for 2024/25 as her side reached the Genero Adran Premier play-off final.
Her performances throughout both campaigns also led to a Welsh Colleges call-up, and the shot-stopper travelled to Rome in March of 2025 to compete in the prestigious Roma Caput Mundi tournament.
After leaving Connah's Quay Nomads later that year, France made the switch to England, signing for Poulton Victoria, but now returns to Wales with aspirations of replicating her standout performances in the top-flight of her home country.
“We are delighted to welcome Molly to our goalkeeping department,” said head coach Kieran Lee-Birch.
“We came close to signing her in the Christmas window, so we're really pleased to have finally got this one over the line. Molly has impressed us throughout pre-season and has settled in well, playing a full 90 minutes and keeping a clean sheet against Chester last Thursday.
“With Kenz and Meg also in the squad, I firmly believe we now have the strongest goalkeeping union in the league. A key focus for us in this transfer window has been adding quality and depth in every position, and we now have three goalkeepers who are all more than capable of starting any Genero Adran Premier game.”
The young shot-stopper struck a similar tone, adding:
“I'm delighted to be joining The New Saints and can't wait to get started at Park Hall. This club has such a strong reputation in the Genero Adran Premier, and I'm excited to be part of a squad with real ambitions this season.
“I've worked hard over the last couple of years to keep developing as a goalkeeper, and I feel like this is the right step for me to keep pushing myself at the top level of the women's game in Wales.”
The New Saints get their Genero Adran Premier season underway on Sunday, September 6th with a trip to Cardiff Met WFC.
