It was a welcome return to winning ways for The New Saints on Tuesday night, as goals from Rory Holden and Ryan Brobbel proved enough to secure a 2-1 victory over Bala Town.

That result moved Craig Harrison’s side four points clear at the top of the JD Cymru Premier, and attention now turns to Friday night’s home fixture against Colwyn Bay, which will be the Saints’ final match before the league splits.

The Bay head into the contest knowing that a point would mathematically confirm their place in the Championship Conference, although they appear all but safe already. Only a highly unlikely sequence of results, including an eight-goal swing in Cardiff Met’s favour, would put Mike Wilde’s side at risk.

Craig Harrison’s side will take plenty of confidence from their recent meetings with the Seagulls, having won four of the last five matches with an aggregate score of 12-2.

The only game the Saints failed to win, however, came earlier this season, when a goal from ex-TNS man Aeron Edwards cancelled out Jordan Williams’ opener in a 1-1 draw.

The home side will be wearing green and white hooped shirts, with green shorts and green socks for Friday’s contest, while the visitors will take to the field in all-black. The goalkeepers will be in all-yellow and all-pink respectively.

James Walker is the referee, with Ashley Davis and Jordan Christopher the two assistants. John Jones will act as fourth official, with Huw Jones the referee observer.
