It was another positive result for The New Saints on Tuesday, as they defeated Caernarfon Town 3-0 to book their place in the semi-finals of the Nathaniel MG Cup.
Tomorrow night, however, Craig Harrison’s side turn their attention back to the defence of their JD Cymru Premier title, with Cardiff Met visiting Park Hall for Friday night football.
The match against the Archers will be the Saints’ third in the space of a week, and after back-to-back victories over Haverfordwest County and Caernarfon, they’ll be hoping to make it a hat-trick of wins come the final whistle.
When the two sides faced off in the capital earlier this season, it was the league leaders who secured the bragging rights, as they took home a 3-1 win after a professional performance.
The Saints took the lead through Danny Davies with 15 played, but were pegged back just two minutes later when former TNS-man Adam Roscrow notched the equaliser.
However, Ben Wilson and Rory Holden were both on target before the break to restore the advantage, with no further goals arriving in the second half.
At the time, Ryan Jenkins’ side were still searching for their first league win, but a recent run of 13 points from a possible 18 has left them on the cusp of a top-six place. After qualifying for the championship conference in each of the last three seasons, they’ll be determined to make it four from four this time around.
Tomorrow, The New Saints will take to the field in green and white hooped shirts, green shorts, and green socks, while Cardiff Met will be wearing burgundy shirts and socks with navy blue shorts. The respective goalkeepers will be wearing all-yellow and all-orange.
Mark Petch is the referee, and he will be assisted by Connor Fowler and Harvey Smallman. Mark James has been appointed fourth official, with Huw Jones acting as the referee observer.
