Following a hard-fought JD Welsh Cup victory against Mold Alexandra, it’s back to JD Cymru Premier action for The New Saints on Friday (October 24th). 

The clash at Stebonheath Park is a bottom vs top fixture, with the two sides enjoying varying degrees of fortune so far this season.

While the hosts have struggled for results, winning on just two occasions since their return to the top flight, Craig Harrison’s side are currently on a run of 10 consecutive matches in all competitions.

It’s a spell of form that’s given the Saints a six-point lead at the top of the JD Cymru Premier table, as they look to secure the title for a fifth consecutive season, as well as a record-extending 18th time.

After a mini-resurgence, which saw the Reds collect impressive victories against Briton Ferry Llansawel and Haverfordwest County, Lee John’s side have lost their last three in the league. They did, however, beat the Bluebirds once again in Welsh Cup action last weekend.

When the two sides met at Park Hall on September 13th, it ended 6-0 in favour of the champions, with goals from Jordan Williams, Ben Wilson, Jack Bodenham and Danny Davies, plus an own goal from Sam Parsons, proving the difference.

For Friday’s rematch, Llanelli will take to the field in their all-red home kit, while the Saints will be in their all-black third strip. The goalkeepers will be wearing all-turquoise and all-yellow respectively.

The referee is Alex McInch and he will be assisted by Harry Hendricks and Ethan Goatley. Ieuan Lewis is the fourth official and Craig Greenstock the referee observer.
