It’s JD Cymru Premier matchday 12 action on the way tomorrow night, as The New Saints travel to the Go Goodwins Stadium to take on Caernarfon Town.
Craig Harrison’s side enjoyed another positive result this past weekend, as they defeated Barry Town United by four goals to nil to move three points clear at the top of the table.
Jack Bodenham, Ken Charles, Ben Clark and Isaac Jefferies were all on target at Park Hall, helping the defending champions also record a seventh consecutive victory in all competitions.
After a strong start to the season, the Canaries have faltered somewhat in recent weeks, losing three of their last four matches.
Included in that statistic are back-to-back home defeats against Penybont (2-1) and Cardiff Met (3-0), while tomorrow’s opponents were also beaten 1-0 on the road at Colwyn Bay this past weekend.
The Cofis’ early season form, which saw them go unbeaten in their first seven matches, meant it was they were leading the way for a number of weeks, but Richard Davies’ side now find themselves in third place – six points behind leaders The New Saints.
Although Caernarfon currently have three TNS players amongst their ranks, loan rules mean that Zack Clarke, Josh Lock and Sion Bradley will all be ineligible to play against their parent club.
One man who could be in line to feature though is Connor Roberts. The goalkeeper retired from full-time football and departed The New Saints following last season’s JD Welsh Cup final, but put pen-to-paper on a semi-professional deal with the Canaries back in July
For tomorrow night’s match in Llandudno, the home side will take to the field in their traditional home kit of yellow shirts with green shorts and yellow socks, while the Saints will be wearing their all-black third strip. Goalkeepers will be in all-purple and all-turquoise respectively.
John Jones has been appointed as referee, with Richard Dolphin and Harvey Smallman the two assistants. James Walker is the fourth official, with Michael Jones the referee observer.
