The New Saints are delighted to announce the permanent signing of Adam Wilson after his departure from Bradford City on transfer deadline day.
Wilson returns to Park Hall on a full-time basis following a successful loan spell that began in August 2024.
The move marks the latest chapter in a strong relationship between the winger and the club, which started in September 2022 when he first joined TNS from Newcastle United.
The 2022/23 season proved to be a breakout year for Wilson, whose performances quickly made him a fan favourite. He played a key role in the club’s success that season and was deservedly named the Supporters’ Player of the Year.
In August 2023, Wilson made a permanent move to Bradford City. However, his ties with TNS remained strong, and he returned to Park Hall on loan 12 months later.
Representing the club in the league phase of the UEFA Conference League, and playing an important role as the Saints secured a domestic treble, it proved to be another successful campaign for the Kenya international.
Speaking after returning to Park Hall, Wilson said: “This club has always felt like home to me. From the moment I first arrived, I’ve had a great connection with the fans, the staff, and the players.
“Coming back last season on loan reminded me just how special it is to play here, and I’m absolutely buzzing to be back permanently. I’m excited for what’s to come and can’t wait to get going again.”
Head coach Craig Harrison was also pleased to get the signing over the line, saying: “We were very keen to bring Adam in permanently at the end of last season, but with a year still left on his contract at Bradford – and them earning promotion to League One – he understandably wanted to stay and give pre-season a real go.
“We know exactly what Adam brings to this team. He gives us another dynamic option out wide and is versatile enough to play on either flank or through the middle.
“During his previous spell with us, I think he scored 15 or 16 league goals across a season and a half, which is an excellent return for a wide player. He brings goals, assists, and that direct attacking threat that really suits the way we play. He’s a fantastic addition to the squad.”
Chairman Mike Harris added: “We’re thrilled to bring Adam back to the club on a permanent basis. His quality on the pitch is matched by his professionalism and character off it.
“He embodies the values we hold at TNS, and his return is a statement of our ambition to keep pushing forward. Our fans know what Adam can do, and we’re excited to see him back in green and white.”
Wilson will wear the number 77 shirt at Park Hall, and could be in line to make his third debut for the club during tonight’s JD Cymru Premier fixture against Cardiff Met.
