After a 5-0 victory against Haverfordwest County this past weekend, The New Saints are back in action tomorrow night, travelling to Connah’s Quay Nomads in the third round of the Nathaniel MG Cup.
Having won the competition in each of the last two seasons, Craig Harrison’s side got their defence of the trophy off to the prefect possible start with a 7-1 victory against JD Cymru North side Airbus UK Broughton on August 2nd.
John Disney’s Nomads were also in second round action that weekend, recording an impressive 9-0 victory on the road against another second tier side – Ruthin Town.
Although the 2025/26 campaign is just six weeks old, the two sides have met once in the league already this season, with the Saints triumphing 3-0 on August 22nd.
On that occasion, goals from Jordan Williams and Ben Wilson secured all three points for the defending champions, so they’ll be hoping for a repeat of that when the action gets underway at the Essity Stadium tomorrow night.
For the third round tie, the home side will be wearing all-red, while the Saints will be wearing green and white hooped shirts, green shorts and green socks. Goalkeepers will be in all-purple and all-yellow respectively.
Siôn Davies has been appointed referee, with Connor Fowler and Harvey Smallman the two assistants. James Walker is the fourth official and Michael Jones the referee observer.
If you’re unable to make it to Flint, you don’t have to miss out on the action, as you can stream the match live via TNS TV (outside the UK and Ireland only) at 247.tv/live/football.
