Nine weeks on from their JD Welsh Cup final victory, The New Saints finally return to competitive action tomorrow night when they welcome KF Shkëndija in the UEFA Champions League. 

The first qualifying round tie against the North Macedonian champions marks the start of what will hopefully be another fruitful campaign for the Saints following last year’s historic UEFA Conference League qualification.

This morning, the JD Cymru Premier champions completed their MD-1 training session – their last before the action gets underway – giving them the opportunity to fine tune their preparations ahead of the game.

Once that was out of the way, head coach Craig Harrison was on media duty for the first time this season, holding his pre-match press conference at Park Hall.

Asked for his thoughts on how the pre-season campaign has gone, the summer additions to the squad, plus the previous tie against Shkëndija, the former English Premier League defender also discussed how last year’s European run will stand his side in stronger stead this time around.
