The New Saints are excited to announce that midfielder Dominic Corness has agreed terms to join the club upon expiry of his contract with Liverpool FC on July 1st.

The midfielder first joined his hometown club’s Academy set-up at the age of just five, progressing through the age groups before signing his first professional contract in 2021.

After making his unofficial debut in a friendly for Jürgen Klopp’s side against Lyon in December 2022, Corness moved on loan to Yverdon-Sport in the Swiss Super League the following July.

In February 2025, the midfielder completed another loan move – this time to Gillingham – and made a number of appearances for the Gills in the English Football League.

As well as featuring prominently for the Reds’ U21s side during his time at Anfield, Corness has also represented England up to and including U20s level.

A cultured left-footed midfielder, Corness is well known for his passing range, set-piece delivery, and football intelligence. His addition adds further strength to the squad ahead of the Saints’ upcoming UEFA Champions League campaign, as well as the defence of their domestic treble.

Speaking after today’s announcement, Corness said:

“From the moment I heard about the opportunity, I knew it was the right move for me. I can’t wait to meet the lads, get started with training, and do everything I can to help the team achieve its goals this season.”

The New Saints’ Head Coach Craig Harrison said:

“Dom is a fantastic talent and a very accomplished footballer. He’s technically sound, has an excellent touch and balance, and he’s confident playing forward passes—exactly the kind of profile we look for.

“He’s another great addition to the squad, having come through a top setup at Liverpool. He spent last season on loan at Gillingham and also gained experience abroad in Switzerland, so he’s already had a taste of senior football in different environments.

“This is a brilliant signing for us. Dom had the option to stay at Liverpool, so we’re absolutely delighted to have brought him in.”
