LATEST NEWS

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Shauna Duffy and Lexi Jones have been nominated for the 2024/25 Genero Adran Premier awards.

Following going semi-professional a year ago, The New Saints Women have had their best season on record.

Shauna Duffy has been at the heartbeat of the success in her time at the helm of The New Saints that has earned a nomination for Manager of the Season. A first major trophy was claimed in February by lifting the Genero Adran Trophy after a 3-1 win against Swansea City at Latham Park.

Duffy also led The Saints to a third-place finish in the Adran Premier – the highest position achieved in the league.

The 29-year-old has said the following on her nomination: “I’m grateful to be nominated for Manager of the Season and wouldn’t have been able to do it without the players and staff.”

Meanwhile, Lexi Jones has been nominated for Young Player of the Season. The 17-year-old netted eight goals in the Adran Premier this season, that included the winner in a 1-0 victory against Wrexham on the final day of the campaign to secure third-place.

Duffy has added the following comments on the TNS number 11: “Lexi has been outstanding all season. Her age hasn’t held her back at all, she’s shown that if you are good enough you will get opportunities and she’s proven that.

“She has stepped up in big moments, on the biggest stage, in the biggest occasions, and that’s a credit to her and her hard work and determination.

“We’re lucky to have someone like Lexi as she paves the way for young Welsh players and showcases that the Genero Adran Premier is a place to flourish and make a name for yourself.”

Voting closes at 5 p.m this coming Monday (May 19), with the winners to be revealed at the FAW National League Awards on Saturday, June 7th.
