The New Saints are disappointed to announce that women’s head coach Shauna Duffy will be departing the club following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season to take up a new role with the Young Lionesses at the English Football Association.

Initially replacing Andy Williams as Head of Women and Girls’ Football in April 2023, the 29-year-old assisted then head coach Greg Draper throughout the 2023/24 campaign, before assuming the reins of the senior team 12 months ago following the New Zealand international’s departure.

Not only did Duffy guide The Saints to their highest-ever Genero Adran Premier finish in their first semi-professional season, but under her leadership, the team also lifted the Genero Adran Trophy for the first time in their history.

Other highlights from a memorable campaign include a 12-match unbeaten streak spanning October-January, a record points tally, plus multiple victories against all of last season’s top three clubs.

Assistant coach Tom Peevor, as well as sports therapist Fliss Winters, will also be vacating their positions now that the season has concluded.

Speaking to tnsfc.co.uk following today’s announcement, Duffy paid tribute to all of the players and staff she’s worked with at The New Saints who’ve helped make the season as successful as it has been.

She said: “I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved this season, as together we made history by lifting the Genero Adran Trophy and securing a third-place finish in the league – the highest in the club’s history.

“To the players, your commitment, hard work, and belief made it all possible, and to the staff, the club, and everyone behind the scenes, thank you for your constant support.

“Everyone who has supported us both home and away, your backing has meant everything, so a huge thanks also goes to you.

“It’s been an honour to lead this team, and I’ll always be cheering on from the sidelines.”

Everyone at The New Saints would like to place on record their thanks to Shauna for all of her hard work over the last two seasons, as well as wishing her all the very best for the future.
