This Friday (April 11th), The New Saints play their final home match of the 2024/25 season when they entertain Bala Town in the JD Cymru Premier.
A 1-0 defeat against Penybont in their last league outing brought The Saints’ winning run of 17 matches to an end, but with the title having already been mathematically secured for a number of weeks now, the result at the SDM Glass Stadium wasn’t too important in the grand scheme of things.
Having made winning a habit in recent months, however, head coach Craig Harrison will be expecting his side to get back on track when they return to home soil this weekend, especially as the champions will be presented with the JD Cymru Premier trophy for a record-extending 17th time following the full-time whistle.
Bala Town have proved to be somewhat of a thorn in TNS’ side this season though, and after completing an impressive phase one double over the league leaders, Colin Caton’s side will be hoping to make it a hat-trick of wins when they take to the field on Friday (7:45pm).
Although the Lakeisders have struggled for form in phase two, they’re guaranteed to be in with a shot at European qualification as a result of their top six finish, so they’ll be waiting to build momentum heading into their playoff campaign.
For Friday’s game, The New Saints will wear their traditional home kit of green and white hooped shirts, green shorts and green socks, while Bala are set to wear grey shirts, red shorts and red socks. Goalkeepers will be in all-turquoise and all-purple, respectively.
John Jones has been appointed referee, while Ceri Williams and Connor Fowler are the two assistants. Iwan Griffith is the fourth official, with Stephen Hames the referee observer.
