Ahead of The New Saints Women’s Genero Adran Premier fixture against Cardiff City, head coach Shauna Duffy held her latest pre-match press conference last night at Park Hall Stadium. 

The game on Sunday is a rematch of last weekend’s Bute Energy Welsh Cup semi-final, which The Saints narrowly lost 1-0, so they’ll be looking to exact a measure of revenge when they return to home soil.

When the two sides met at Park Hall back in January, it was an end-to-end encounter, and despite taking the lead on three occasions, Duffy’s side were again disappointed to be on the wrong end of the result.

Speaking yesterday, the former Blackburn Rovers defender said that her side are ready to bounce back following the defeat at Park Avenue and that their ability to move on from setbacks has improved in recent weeks.

The head coach also answered questions about previous games against the Bluebirds and the challenges of facing a team on three consecutive weekends, as well as Tuesday’s visit from the Duke of Edinburgh.
