On the verge of securing a record-extending 17th JD Cymru Premier title, The New Saints take a break from league action this weekend, as they face Cambrian United in the semi-final of the JD Welsh Cup.

The final four fixture is being played at Park Avenue, Aberystwyth, with a 12:45pm kick-off, and after losing in the final of this competition last season, The Saints will be looking to seal a return to Rodney Parade on May 4th.

To reach the semi-final, Craig Harrison’s side have picked up wins against Llangollen Town (16-0), Cardiff Met University (3-1), Colwyn Bay (4-1) and Airbus UK Broughton (5-0).

The Sky Blues have also navigated four ties, securing victories over Goytre United (0-0, 5-4 on penalties), Llandudno (3-2), Afan Lido (0-0, 3-1 on penalties), and Carmarthen Town (3-1).

The two sides have met twice previously, with both matches coming in cup competitions. In 2009, The Saints claimed a 2-0 victory in the JD Welsh Cup, while the team from South Wales secured a famous 2-1 win in the semi-finals of the Nathaniel MG Cup back in 2018.

On Sunday, Cambrian United will take to the field in sky blue shirts, navy shorts and sky blue socks, while The New Saints will be in all-navy. The goalkeepers will be wearing all-orange and all-purple respectively.

Bryn Markham-Jones is the referee, with Connor Thomas and Cilian Thomas the two assistants. Nick Pratt is the fourth official, while Gary Hughes has been appointed as the referee observer.

Tickets for the game are available to purchase on the gate only – priced at £5 for adults and £2 for concessions (U16s, 65+, Students).

If you aren’t at Park Avenue in person, you don’t have to miss out on the action. Sgorio will be streaming the game live, so visit their YouTube channel or Facebook Page to watch.
