The New Saints Women are pleased to confirm the signing of former Swansea City midfielder Kelsey Thomas.

The 20-year-old becomes the third signing of the January window, following in the footsteps of Megan Bowen and Mia Davies.

Having first joined the Swans at U12s level, Thomas progressed through the ranks at Llandarcy Academy of Sport, and made her first-team debut aged just 16 in May 2021.

As she looked to gain more senior experience, the teenager signed for Aberystwyth Town later that year, making 21 appearances for the Seasiders as they defied the odds to qualify for the Championship Conference in the inaugural Genero Adran Premier season.

Thomas secured a return to Swansea City in August 2023, spending a further 18 months with the six-time champions.

In February 2024, The Saints’ newest recruit was also selected in the prestigious Welsh Colleges squad and travelled with the team to Italy to face Canada, Lithuania and the host nation in the Il Cacio E Rosa tournament.

Speaking after the confirmation of Thomas’ signing, Head Coach, Shauna Duffy, said: “Kelsey has already shown how versatile she can be in training, and has brought a great energy and tempo since arriving.

“We’re excited to see the impact she can have on both the team and the league, as we feel like she has already slotted in well with the group.”

“I’m really excited to be at the club,” Thomas said. “It’s a club with big ambitions and the players and coaches have given me a great welcome.

“I can’t wait to get started and I’m looking forward to the new challenge with The New Saints.”

Welcome to Park Hall, Kelsey!
