Yesterday, The New Saints Academy welcomed Youth Empowerment Mentoring back to Park Hall Stadium to deliver further workshops for our young players.
Youth Empowerment Mentoring (or YEM for short), was launched by Tristian Griffiths in 2023 and provides tailored support in mental health, personal growth, resilience, and goal achievement.
As a club, The New Saints recognises the importance of helping its players grow as individuals, meaning it’s crucial that in addition to the on-pitch development they receive, young players within the Academy set-up also learn valuable life skills too.
Yesterday’s hour-long workshops were attended by our U19s, U16s, U15s, U14s and U13s, and with a focus on the importance of positive mental health, it was great to have Tristian back at Park Hall to lead them.
The sessions were highly interactive, and all of the players enjoyed having the opportunity to take part. It was the second in a series of workshops led by YEM (the first took place back in October), with more scheduled to take place regularly between now and the end of the season.
While he was there, we also took the opportunity to sit down with Tristian to learn more about the work that he does, how his involvement with The New Saints came about, plus his plans to develop the organisation moving forwards.
