Following a three week break for Christmas, The New Saints Women resume their Genero Adran Premier campaign this weekend, and it’s a big one at Park Hall. 

The league leaders welcome defending champions, Cardiff City, to Oswestry for a top of the table clash, with the action set to unfold live in front of the Sgorio cameras.

When the two sides met in the quarter-finals of the Genero Adran Trophy last month, it was The Saints who triumphed 1-0 to not only record their first-ever victory against the Bluebirds, but also reach the semi-finals of the competition for a fourth consecutive season.

Ahead of Sunday’s rematch, head coach, Shauna Duffy, was on media duty yesterday afternoon, holding her pre-match press conference before her side’s training session at Park Hall.

Asked for her reflections following a last-gasp win against Swansea City in their final match of 2024, the 29-year-old also explained how last month’s win against Cardiff will give the team added confidence.

On top of that, the head coach explained the work that’s gone in over Christmas to maintain match sharpness, and provided an update regarding potential new signings, as well as the injury situation within the squad.
