A first win over the Bluebirds
The New Saints Women claimed a fantastic 1-0 win over the 2023/24 Genero Adran trophy champions, Cardiff City, to reach the semi-finals of the competition yesterday afternoon.
In the only goal of the game, it was Olivia Buckland that netted midway through the first-half to ultimately give The New Saints an historic victory.
It is the Oswestry-based team’s first ever win over the Bluebirds.
Buckland delivers once again
For back-to-back games, Buckland netted for The Saints.
Caitlin Chapman was the provider for the 17-year-old, who managed to slot the ball home from inside the box.
Shauna Duffy praised Buckland in her post-match interview.

Chapman will assist you
That assist for Buckland yesterday was Chapman’s 29th in a Saints shirt.
Since arriving at Park Hall over three years ago, the 21-year-old has always been a great provider for her teammates.
There’s a reason why Chapman was selected for the recent Gibraltar camp, and the number 17’s assists over her time at the current Adran Plate holders show that.

Vital clean sheet
TNS got a seventh clean sheet in all competitions this season by keeping the Bluebirds at bay.
The defence has proved critical in the past couple of homes games following on from the 1-0 win against Wrexham at Park Hall in the Genero Adran Premier (Sunday, November 24).
In total, Duffy’s team have only conceded seven goals in the 13 games played over the 2024/25 campaign.
Saints’ fourth consecutive Adran Trophy semi-final
A fourth consecutive Adran Trophy semi-final now awaits the green and white hooped Saints.
The last three semi-finals have all ended in defeat, so will this season be a different story?
