Four goals scored past the Dragons
The New Saints Women had an excellent Wednesday night at Park Hall Stadium, as Greg Draper’s team defeated Pontypridd United 4-0.
A hat-trick from Chantelle Teare, and a lovely finish from Mel Barlow got the job done against the Dragons.
It’s the first time two consecutive Adran Premier victories have been recorded by The New Saints since the end of 2023.
A Chantelle Teare hat-trick
Saints’ number nine was at it once again last night with a wonderful hat-trick.
It’s now 11 goals in all competitions for the 22-year-old in the 2023/24 season.
Teare was very much torn for her favourite goal between the first and the third.

Mel Barlow
Barlow netted a goal for a second consecutive game following Cardiff Met on Sunday.
The midfielder intercepted the ball off the Pontypridd defence and scored into the top of the opposition’s net.
Barlow was rewarded with the Henstone Distillery Player of the March for her work during the game, in addition to being named in the Genero Adran Leagues Team of the Week along with Teare.

Strength in depth
With six first-team players missing from the starting line-up once again, it was fantastic to see other players step up to the occasion.
Two of those players were Olivia Buckland and Ellie Suckley, with the latter keeping her first senior clean sheet and Buckland making her first-team debut.

One win away from the Plate
After defeating Pontypridd and the other result in the Adran Premier Plate Conference going Draper’s side’s way, The Saints are now one victory away from securing the Plate.
There is two opportunities to seal the silverware, with the first this Sunday (March 31st) against Barry Town United at Park Hall.
The last time TNS played Barry Town at Park Hall, it ended in a 5-0 win for the hosts (October 8th, 2023), with those supporting the Oswestry team on this weekend hoping for something similar.
