In the space of less than one day last weekend, The New Saints went from an ifs, buts and maybes scenario to lifting the JD Cymru Premier trophy at Park Hall.

Following Bala Town’s victory against Connah’s Quay Nomads on Friday evening, a win for Craig Harrison’s side on Saturday lunchtime ensured that the title was secured for a record-extending sixteen times.

It’s back to league action this Friday (March 8), when we travel to Flint’s Cae-y-Castell to take on Connah’s Quay on JD Cymru Premier MD27.

The sides have already met on three occasions so far this season, with The New Saints running out winners each time.

A 2-1 Nathaniel MG Cup victory on August 5, was followed six days later by a 6-2 league win, with both games at Park Hall.

The clubs met at Flint on December 31, with a 4-0 final score on that occasion, as the visitors raced into a 3-0 lead inside the opening thirty minutes.

Goals from Josh Pask (7), Ryan Brobbel (13) and a brace from Brad Young (30, 56) ensured that TNS signed off the old year in style, as they led the way at the top with a fifteen-points gap.

Since then, Craig Harrison has seen his side extend the lead to twenty, with the Nomads themselves in second-place and enjoying a healthy gap of ten points over Bala Town in third.
