There’s more JD Cymru Premier football on the way this weekend, as The New Saints welcome Cardiff Metropolitan University to Park Hall. 

It’s been a superb season so far for Craig Harrison’s side, and after an 8-1 victory against Caernarfon Town in their last game, they’re currently enjoying a winning streak of 23 consecutive matches in all competitions.

Although they won’t look too fondly on their last visit to Oswestry, when they were defeated 8-0 in January, the Archers were the last side to defeat The Saints domestically back in February 2023, and have traditionally been a difficult opponent for the defending champions.

At the time of writing, The Saints still need another four points to mathematically be crowned champions, but there’s still a possibility that the league leaders can secure the title this weekend.

For that to happen, TNS would need to rely on Connah’s Quay Nomads dropping points against Bala Town on Friday night, and then triumph at Park Hall on Saturday afternoon.

Holding his pre-match press conference earlier today, head coach, Harrison was keen to stress that while his side are aware of the possible permutations, their focus will be firmly on their own game against the Students.

This week, the former Middlesbrough defender also discussed the 8-0 victory against Cardiff Met two months ago, his delight at how his side have adapted to different challenges in recent weeks, and potential changes to the starting line-up this weekend.

There was also an update regarding injuries and availability, plus the latest news on the progress of recent signing, Matthew Olosunde.
