It’s a departure from league action for The New Saints this weekend, as they travel to Briton Ferry Llansawel in the quarter-finals of the JD Welsh Cup. 

With The Saints continuing their bid for a historic quadruple, another tough test is to be expected at the Old Road Welfare Ground, as the Ferry currently sit three points clear at the top of the JD Cymru South, and remain the favourites for promotion.

Like the holders, Briton Ferry have been in good form themselves, and prior to a 4-3 defeat against Cambrian and Clydach last time out, had won eight out of their previous nine games in all competitions.

Following today’s training session, head coach, Craig Harrison, was on media duties, as he held his pre-match press conference in advance of the game in South Wales.

After sharing his thoughts ahead of the quarter-final clash, the former Middlesborough defender discussed The Saints’ near six-year JD Welsh Cup winning streak and his side’s preparations heading into the fixture.
