Having tasted defeat for the first time in eight matches against Cardiff City, The New Saints Women will be looking for an immediate return to winning ways when they take to the field this weekend. 

A trip to Barry Town United’s Jenner Park awaits Greg Draper’s side, who, despite the recent setback, still hold the advantage in the race to finish inside the top four.

Three points in South Wales would do their cause no harm whatsoever, and after coming away with a 3-2 victory on their last visit to the Vale of Glamorgan, The Saints will be full of confidence.

The Linnets though, aren’t to be underestimated, and after strengthening their ranks with the arrivals of Danielle Broadhurst and Catherine Walsh in recent days, will provide another stern test.

Holding his pre-match press conference earlier this week, head coach, Draper, was honest in his assessment of the 6-0 defeat against the Bluebirds, explaining it hard to draw any positives, but was more upbeat about his side’s chances on Sunday.

Discussing the recent form against Stevie McCarthy-Campbell’s team (which includes three wins in the last four), and the best way to approach the game, the New Zealand international also provided an update regarding potential new signings with the transfer window now open.
