Late heartbreak
It was a tough 2-1 defeat to take against Swansea City in the Genero Adran premier on Sunday, as it looked like the match was going to end a point apiece, however in the sixth minute of added on time it all changed when an over-the-top-ball was played from Alicia Powe to Robyn Pinder, who slotted the ball into the net from close-range.
It’s never easy to be on the wrong side of a dramatic ending, but that’s football.
The loss will hopefully fuel The New Saints to be even more determined moving into the next few games.
Ella Hartley
It was a beautiful goal from Ella Hartley to get Greg Draper’s team level at 84 minutes into the match.

The 26-year-old hit an effort from outside the box that went in off the crossbar, to find the back of the net.
Sunday’s wonder strike was Hartley fourth goal of the season. Hartley was awarded Henstone Distillery Player of the Match for her performance.

Lia Lewis
A lot of Lia Lewis’ work often goes under the radar in the midfield.
Saints’ number 34 puts in a terrific shift every week, and can be often seen winning the ball and making key little passes to open up gaps moving forward up the pitch.
Lia Lewis did well to help Draper’s side stay in the encounter against the Swans.
Mackenzie Haydn-Jones
Another player that did a terrific job to limit Chris Church’s team was former West Bromwich Albion keeper, Mackenzie Haydn-Jones, with there being a number of stops made throughout the match.
The more experience the 19-year-old gets between the sticks, the tougher it will be for attackers to find a way past.
Haydn-Jones has been included in this week’s Genero Adran Leagues Team of the Week for the saves made on Sunday afternoon.

Saints’ terrific goal scoring record
With Hartley’s tremendous finish, Saints’ goalscoring run goes on.
When there’s Draper as head coach, you’ve got one of the most prolific goal scorers in domestic history. TNS have found the back of the net in every competitive match the New Zealand international has been in charge.
The Oswestry-based team will be looking for more goals this Sunday (October 29), where it is a trip to The Rock to face Wrexham.
