Still competing in three cup competitions, it’s SPFL Trust Trophy round four action this coming Saturday (October 14) for The New Saints.

Following the 3-0 win against Hibernian B in the previous round, it’s home territory this time for the JD Cymru Premier champions, who are Wales’ sole representative in the competition, with Bala Town having exited at the first hurdle.

Although this weekend’s game will be our debut competitive fixture against East Fife, it’s not the first time that our paths have crossed.

On Wednesday, June 22, 2021, we played a pre-season friendly at Bayview Stadium, as part of the Scottish training camp that we were on at the time.

The squad did split, as we were at Ayr United three days later, but from the starting XI at East Fife, only Adrian Cieslewicz, Connor Roberts and Leo Smith remain at the club.

Less than a month later, we travelled to Belfast, where our match against Glentoran in the UEFA Europa Conference League launched our most successful European campaign ever, with four wins, one draw and one defeat.

Back to the present though and Saturday’s visitors currently find themselves in 8th position within a ten-team cinch League Two.

Having picked up seven points from their eight games to date, East Fife have yet to win on the road in the league, collecting just one point from their four games to date.

As far as the SPFL Trust Trophy is concerned, their journey to round four saw them beat Dundee B away 5-3 on penalties (0-0 after ninety minutes) and Albion Rovers at home 2-1.

The weekend’s game has a 5.15 p.m. kick-off time and we look forward to seeing you at Park Hall. If you’re not there in person, you can follow the action on TNS Radio, via our Facebook page/website.
