The New Saints’ biggest victory in the Genero Adran Premier

Yesterday afternoon, The New Saints Women recorded a 5-0 win, the biggest result recorded by Greg Draper’s team in the Genero Adran Premier since the league first started in September, 2021.

Sunday’s victory was also the first time The New Saints have won their opening home match in the Adran Premier, having previously lost to Barry and Pontypridd United in their previous opening games at home.

It is the third time The Saints have defeated The Linnets, and a second at Park Hall Stadium.

Emily Ridge

Emily Ridge became only the second player in the Adran Premier to net a hat-trick this season. The last hat-trick for the number 35 actually came against Barry (November 6) in the 2022/23 campaign.

Ridge was always there to convert the chances that came in at close-range, and that’s all you need off any striker in football.

The 31-year-old will be seeking to beat her tally of the 14 goals that were netted in all competitions last season.

Izzy Redding

Izzy Redding was voted as yesterday’s Henstone Distillery Player of the Match after a solid performance at the back.

Redding did all the basics well throughout the match, and helped limit Barry Town’s opportunities.

Saints’ number 32 was presented with a bottle of gin by skipper, Beth Lewis, post-match.

Beth Lewis, Caitlin Chapman and Lia Lewis all made their 50th appearance for The Saints against Barry.

All three players have proven valuable to have on the pitch when it matters.

It was also quite fitting that Beth Lewis scored two penalties to mark the occasion. The 21-year-old holds an 100% record from spot-kicks.

All to play for moving forward

The Saints are now up to third on seven points in the Adran Premier after four games played.

Even though it is early doors, Draper’s side are in a good position moving into the next set of matches.
