LATEST NEWS

With a busy ongoing September schedule, we play our sixth game of the month this Friday (22nd), as we travel to Cyncoed to take on Cardiff Metropolitan University FC.

The JD Cymru Premier MD8 fixture is a sixth versus first encounter, with six points separating the teams in the table. Although it’s still early days as far as the league is concerned, nevertheless in context there are still six-pointers each week.

If we beat Cardiff Met, we establish a lead of nine points ahead of the university-based side. If they win, however, the gap is down to three.

The Students, after a bright start to the season, have registered just the one win in the last four league games, which was a 2-0 against Pontypridd United.

They did register a confidence-boosting 4-0 Nathaniel MG Cup victory against Afan Lido this week though.

The last time that The New Saints visited Cyncoed, two goals in as many minutes from Leo Smith and Adam Wilson, put the visitors in a comfortable position.

However, a brace from Chris Baker and a solo Eliot Evans goal secured a 3-2 victory, as Christian Edwards’ side became the only team to beat TNS in the 2022/2023 league season.

On Friday, the home side will be in burgundy/blue/burgundy, while TNS will be wearing green and white hooped shirts, green shorts and socks.

The goalkeepers will be in yellow and blue/blue/yellow and all-purple respectively.

Nick Pratt will referee the game and he will be assisted by Lewiss Edwards and Jordan Christopher. Jordan Harman is the fourth official and Rodger Gifford the referee observer.

Kick-off is 7.45 p.m. and we look forward to seeing you in the capital. If you’re not there in person, you can follow the action on TNS Radio via our website/Facebook home page.
