LATEST NEWS

This Sunday (September 17), The New Saints Women travel to USW Sports Park to take on Pontypridd United in the opening matchday of the 2023/24 Genero Adran Premier season.

After finishing fourth in last season’s Adran Premier campaign, The New Saints will be aiming to push even higher across these next few months.

First up is a trip to South Wales to take on Pontypridd, a team The Saints just pipped to get into the 2022/23 Championship Conference.

Greg Draper’s side have a good record at USW Sports Park against last season’s Adran Premier Plate winners, with three victories and one draw.

The last meeting between the two teams was in the Genero Adran Trophy quarter-finals (January 15), where the Oswestry-based side came out 2-0 victors at Park Hall Stadium thanks to goals from Izzy Redding and Emily Ridge in either half.

TNS are still looking for opening day success, having suffered two defeats in the last couple of years on the first matchday to Pontypridd (September 5, 2021) and Barry Town United (September 4, 2022)- both of these matches took place at Park Hall.

For this weekend’s encounter, James Fishlock’s Dragons will be in a white shirt with black shorts and socks, with the goalkeepers in all-orange.

TNS are set to wear green shirts with grey shorts and socks. The keepers are to have an all-purple outfit.

The officials are as follows: Charlotte Carpenter (referee), Jordan Christopher and Michelle Portelli (assistant referees).

Kick-off is at 2 p.m, and there will be live updates on The New Saints Women’s X page.
