With The New Saints currently in Scotland ahead of tonight’s SPFL Trust Trophy fixture against Hibernian B, it gives us the perfect opportunity to share details regarding our latest player sponsorship.

Last year’s JD Cymru Premier Player of the Season and Golden Boot winner, Declan McManus, is the player in the spotlight, with Oswestry-based estate agent, Daniel James Residential, kindly agreeing to sponsor the Scottish striker for the upcoming season.

Daniel James Residential was founded by Daniel McGowran a little over two years ago, with the ambition of becoming the go-to property advisor in the area.

Since its inception in 2021, the business has undergone fast growth and now holds a prominent office on Albion Hill in Oswestry Town Centre.

Below, Daniel, who is also the Director of the company, explains a little bit about his background, and his reasoning for getting involved with the JD Cymru Premier champions.

“I’m originally from north-west London, however, I moved to Shropshire to start a family. My extended family are from north Shropshire, so I’ve spent a lot of time in the county over the years,” he said. 

“Football has always been a passion for my family growing up. My younger brother and I both played when we were younger, and while he went on to coach in the Isthmian league where he still is now, I decided that property was a more suitable career for me.

“Football is still a dominant topic whenever speaking with family and friends though.

“Supporting the local football team, and a player such as Declan, enhances community engagement, fosters a sense of unity, and promotes the growth of both the football club and the area.

“We recognise a huge amount of potential at The New Saints with their women’s team and academy and we are delighted to be a part of it.”

It was great to welcome Daniel to Park Hall for the first time at the recent JD Cymru Premier fixture against Barry Town United, and following the full-time whistle, we conducted the interview below out on the pitch.
