LATEST NEWS

With the disappointment of European competition behind us, The New Saints now turns its attention to Welsh domestic football.

We get our season underway with a Nathaniel MG Cup second round game at Park Hall against Connah’s Quay Nomads, on Saturday (August 5).

Formally the Welsh League Cup, the competition has been backed by Nathaniel MG since 2016 and is known by the name of the sponsor .

Having lifted the trophy for four consecutive campaigns from 2014-2015, The New Saints has failed to reach the final since then, a total of four competitive seasons and one cancelled due to COVID-19.

The last final victory was on January 20, 2018, when Jamie Mullan’s goal was all that separated the sides as TNS beat Cardiff Metropolitan University FC 1-0 at Park Avenue.

The last time that The New Saints won a game in the competition was in the same year (October 30), when we beat Llandudno 5-0 on the road at the quarter-finals stage.

This Saturday’s game sees last season’s JD Cymru Premier top two go head-to-head, as both begin their domestic season following on from disappointing European results.

The encounter will be refereed by Rob Jenkins and he will be assisted by Ian Bird and Connor Thomas. The fourth official is Ieuan Lewis and Peter Kewley the referee observer.

Kick-off time is 2.30 p.m. and we look forward to seeing you at Park Hall. If you’re not there in person though, you can follow the action on TNS Radio via our website/Facebook page.
