Following in the footsteps of Harry Bower in 2018, Tomas Jones is the latest Park Hall youngster to represent his country at English Colleges FA (ECFA) level.
His eligibility came via The New Saints’ partnership with North Shropshire College and initially it was manager, Simon Smith, who recommended Tomas for trials.
From an initial 500 trialists, he progressed to the group of 60 and then made the cut of 20, as the ECFA squad was assembled.
At Park Hall this week, we chatted with Tomas about his selection for England, as well as the recent game against Australia and the tournament in Italy.
With a big domestic game on the horizon this coming Sunday, we also talked about the FAW Youth Cup semi-final encounter between The New Saints and Flint Town United.
In addition, we discussed Tom’s footballing past that includes a spell with his boyhood club, Manchester United.
