For the second consecutive weekend, The New Saints are in home action, welcoming third-placed Penybont to Oswestry on Saturday. 

The game against Rhys Griffiths’ side offers The Saints an opportunity to increase their lead at the top of the table to 20 points, with Connah’s Quay Nomads not in action until later in the day.

Games against the Bont have traditionally always been narrow encounters though, and often with just a single goal separating the sides – it means the league leaders will need to be at the top of their game should they wish to take another big step towards the title.

With kick-off now less than 72 hours away, head coach, Craig Harrison, held his latest pre-match press conference today after overseeing training at Park Hall.

Questions were asked about the positive reaction against Newtown last weekend, the selection headache he faces with players returning from injury, as well as the close battles the two teams have contested since Penybont’s promotion in 2019.
