The New Saints FC is pleased to announce the signing of Luke Simpson, subject to international clearance.

The Heywood-born goalkeeper – who is twenty-eight years of age – began his footballing journey with Bury at the age of eight.

A year later he moved the thirteen miles along the M66 and M60 to Oldham Athletic.

Several moves – including loan deals – followed.

Making his football league debut for Accrington Stanley, he saved a penalty in the second-half against Southend United.

He also spent time with high-flyers Leicester City and Watford, who were in the English Championship and Premier League respectively.

Bringing us up to date, we also chatted with Luke about his recent spell with Kidderminster Harriers, which included the FA Cup games against Reading and West Ham United.
