It’s JD Cymru Premier MD2 this coming Saturday (August 20), as we welcome Penybont FC to Park Hall.
Last weekend saw mixed fortunes, with The New Saints being held 0-0 at Latham Park against a Newtown side that was reduced to ten men, while the Bont registered an excellent 2-0 victory at home to Bala Town.
As Craig Harrison and Rhys Griffiths go head-to-head for the first time this season, both will be very much aware of how close the games between their two respective teams were in 2021/22.
Last time round, although TNS won three out of the five competitive encounters, the margin was never greater than one goal, as games ended 1-1, 3-2, 3-3, 2-1 and 3-2.
The result that will stand out for most will be the 3-3 on March 12, which meant that, come the final whistle at Park Hall, The New Saints lifted the league trophy for a record fourteenth time.
This Saturday, The New Saints will be in green and white hooped shirts, green shorts and white socks, with the ‘keepers in red and blue shirts, red shorts and socks.
The visitors will be in all-blue, with the goalkeepers wearing all-yellow.
Iwan Griffith is the appointed referee and he will be assisted by Connor Fowler and Ceri Williams. Andy Harms is the fourth official.
Kick-off time is 2.30 p.m. and we look forward to seeing you at Park Hall. If you are unable to make the game, then you can follow the action via TNS Radio on the club’s website or Facebook page.
There will be a programme issued, which will be on sale at the ground.
