Our first full day in Portugal has been a busy one for the players.

With three sessions spread throughout the day, we’re certainly making the most of our time here at Browns Sports Resort.

Following breakfast, training got underway at 10am and lasted for 90 minutes.

We captured some of the action on video, which you can see in the embedded video.

Then, it was time for more food, as lunch was quickly upon us.

The squad hit the gym in the afternoon, and there were two 30-minute sessions, one for the younger pros, and the other for more senior players.

A small selection of photos from today’s gym session can be seen in the tweet below.

Back onto the pitch for an hour before the evening meal, the third and final session was focused on conditioning.

With competitive action – the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League – exactly a month away, the players are working harder than ever to give themselves the best possible chance of progression.

After the day’s work was done, we caught up with our Head of Sports Science and Player Performance, Tom Noon, who gave some great insight into what we’ve been up to, not just this week, but since the group returned to pre-season training.

You can watch the interview below.
