With a 23rd consecutive European campaign on the horizon, The New Saints can today confirm details for the first friendly of the 2022/23 season.

On Sunday 26th June, The Saints will play host to Northern Irish side, Cliftonville, at Park Hall Stadium with a 1.45 pm kick-off.

Paddy McLaughlin’s side are preparing for a European campaign themselves, as a second-placed finish in the NIFL Premiership means that they’ll compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League for the first time ever.

It’ll be the Reds’ first foray into European football since 2019 when, in the UEFA Europa League preliminary round, they knocked out another Welsh club, Barry Town United, 4-0 on aggregate.

The New Saints and Cliftonville have met in competitive action just twice before, with the side from Park Hall emerging narrow 2-1 aggregate winners in the first qualifying round of the 2011-2012 Europa League season.

Entry into the match on June 26th will be free for all supporters. Don’t forget to keep an eye on our social media channels in the coming days, as we’ll be announcing further friendly fixtures in due course.
